Some go for buff bodies and yeah they look good: the abs, the lean body blah blah blah. But what I really go for is laughter. Contagious, ringing out, hearty laughter. And I like eyes too but that’s a whole other blog. I will however quickly mention these guys: Michael Ealy, Bradley Cooper, Josh Lucas..I could go on but won’t. (Smile)
Back to laughter. Maybe, it’s because I grew up listening to radio and knew announcers voices and laughter more than what they looked like. That’s what I enjoyed, that’s what drew me in, their voices and their laughter. Listening to contagious laughter, made me laugh.
In my adult years, I still remember the laughter of the presenter of What Do you Know?, Michael Feldman; the past presenter of Talk of the Nation, Ray Suarez; and who does not love Fresh Air’s Terry Gross. That laugh.
My current laughter obsession is one of the announcers on Pod Save America podcast. Oh my God! I don’t know what he looks like and don’t care. But when he laughs..and he laughs a lot. Oh wow! I like want to marry this guy. Loud laughter here.
I’ve never really thought about hearing laughter on the radio. You make a great point! I will be listening differently from now on! Thanks for posting!

Oh yes, there are so many more attractive aspects to people beyond the physical and superficial.

I’ve always had a deep love of the human voice. As a teenager I listened to far more books than I read with my eyes. It was about the narrators; they became my heroes. I love Barbara Rosenblatt best. She is like twenty people all wrapped up in one talented woman.
My current favorite radio laugh has to go to *Here and Now’s* Robin Young, though I agree Terry Gross is pretty great too.
Abs sure don’t hurt, but you’re right, a laugh goes a lot farther and lasts a lot longer.
